About Me

I have always had a passion for computers and gaming from a young age, playing originals such as Sonic The Hedgehog and Columns on the SEGA Mega Drive and then advancing to PS1 games such as Kula World, WipeOut and GTA. When my parents purchased their first PC for the home I really started to take an interest in creating things such as short animations and basic websites. It was only a matter of time before my passion for creating and games merged, a lot of days were spent trying to understand how games were developed and with this came a lot of learning.

I slowly grew to understand how to build more complex things and started to work with Adobe Flash building more complex websites and basic games. I went to college to study Software Development learning core concepts and improving my knowledge of programming and game development. I enjoyed this new found understanding and once completing college went to university to study Computer Games Development. During my time at university some friends and I started attending Game Jams and building games (and a game engine) together in AS3, The Starling Framework, Box2d and Adobe AIR.

I completed university with a Bachelor of Sciences with Honours - First Class in Computer Games Development and have since worked in a professional capacity as a Software Engineer in C# and Unity and more recently in management roles, now as a Software Engineering Manager. I do still work on games development in my own time, most recently porting my old flash games to run in Windows so they'd still live after the Flash Plugin was removed from browsers. Outside of programming I now spend a lot of time looking after my two children and trying to interest them in programming and games wherever possible.
